|Calculated MW||18016 Da|
|Application & Usage||The peptide is used for blocking the antibody activity of BIK. It usually blocks the antibody activity completely in Western blot analysis by incubating the peptide with equal volume of antibody for 30 minutes at 37°C.|
|Other Names||Bcl-2-interacting killer, Apoptosis inducer NBK, BIP1, BP4, BIK, NBK|
|Formulation||50 µg (0.2 mg/ml) in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.2, containing 0.1% BSA and 0.02% sodium azide.|
|Reconstitution & Storage||-20 °C|
|Precautions||BIK Blocking Peptide is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.|
|Function||Accelerates programmed cell death. Association to the apoptosis repressors Bcl-X(L), BHRF1, Bcl-2 or its adenovirus homolog E1B 19k protein suppresses this death-promoting activity. Does not interact with BAX.|
|Cellular Location||Endomembrane system; Single-pass membrane protein. Mitochondrion membrane; Single-pass membrane protein. Note=Around the nuclear envelope, and in cytoplasmic membranes|
