|Calculated MW||54002 Da|
|Application & Usage||The peptide is used for blocking the antibody activity of active MMP-12. It usually blocks the antibody activity completely in Western blot analysis by incubating the peptide with equal volume of antibody for 30 minutes at 37°C|
|Other Names||Macrophage metalloelastase, MME, 22.214.171.124, Macrophage elastase, ME, hME, Matrix metalloproteinase-12, MMP-12, MMP12, HME|
|Formulation||50 µg (0.2 mg/ml) in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.2, containing 0.1% BSA and 0.02% thimerosal.|
|Reconstitution & Storage||-20 °C|
|Precautions||MMP-12 Blocking Peptide is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.|
|Function||May be involved in tissue injury and remodeling. Has significant elastolytic activity. Can accept large and small amino acids at the P1' site, but has a preference for leucine. Aromatic or hydrophobic residues are preferred at the P1 site, with small hydrophobic residues (preferably alanine) occupying P3.|
|Cellular Location||Secreted, extracellular space, extracellular matrix|
|Tissue Location||Found in alveolar macrophages but not in peripheral blood monocytes|
