Background
Myeloperoxidase (MPO) is a hemeprotein that belongs to the XPO subfamily of the heme peroxidase superfamily.This heme protein catalyzes oxidations by hydrogen peroxide, including MPO- chloride mediated killing of microbes and tumor cells, inactivation of hemotactic factors, crosslinking of proteins and inclination of proteins.
