|Calculated MW||128746 Da|
|Application & Usage||The peptide is used for blocking the antibody activity of TSC1. It usually blocks the antibody activity completely in Western blot analysis by incubating the peptide with equal volume of antibody for 30-60 minutes at 37°C.|
|Other Names||Hamartin, Tuberous sclerosis 1 protein homolog, Tsc1, Kiaa0243|
|Formulation||50 µg (0.5 mg/ml) in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.2, containing 50% glycerol, 1% BSA and 0.02% thimerosal.|
|Reconstitution & Storage||-20 °C|
|Precautions||TSC1 Blocking Peptide is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.|
|Function||In complex with TSC2, inhibits the nutrient-mediated or growth factor-stimulated phosphorylation of S6K1 and EIF4EBP1 by negatively regulating mTORC1 signaling (By similarity). Implicated as a tumor suppressor. Involved in microtubule-mediated protein transport, but this seems to be due to unregulated mTOR signaling (By similarity).|
|Cellular Location||Cytoplasm. Membrane; Peripheral membrane protein. Note=At steady state found in association with membranes.|
