Target/Specificity:
This antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide selected from the C-terminal region of human SUSP1.

Other Names:
Sentrin-specific protease 6; Sentrin/SUMO-specific protease SENP6; SUMO-1-specific protease 1; SENP6; KIAA0797, SSP1, SUSP1
Application Data:
Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human cancer tissue reacted with the primary antibody, which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated. BC = breast carcinoma; HC = hepatocarcinoma. |

Background:
SUSP1 (SENP6) is a protease that deconjugates SUMO1, SUMO2 and SUMO3 from targeted proteins. This protein does not seem to be involved in the processing of full-length SUMO proteins to their mature conjugatable forms. SUSP1 deconjugates SUMO1 from RXRA, leading to transcriptional activation. It may act preferentially on substrates containing 3 or more SUMO2 or SUMO3 moieties.
