Purification | Antisera to human Apaf-1 were raised by repeated immunisation of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG prepared by affinity chromatography. |
Immunogen | Synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 12-28 of human Apaf1 |
Shelf Life | 18 months from date of despatch. |
Gene ID | 317 |
Other Names | Apoptotic protease-activating factor 1, APAF-1, APAF1, KIAA0413 |
Target/Specificity | Apaf1 (Apoptosis protease activating factor 1) is the mammalian homologue of the CED-4 cell death protein in C. Elegans. Apaf1 binds to cytochrome C and caspase-9 leading to caspase-9 activation, resulting in the beginning of the proteolytic cascade characteristic of apoptosis. Apaf1 can also associate with caspase-4 and caspase-8. ABD10052 recognises a 130kD band in Western blots. |
Preservative & Stabilisers | 0.02% Sodium Azide |
Storage | Store at +4℃ or at -20 ℃. |
Precautions | Anti-APAF1 (aa12-28) Antibody is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. |
