| Target/Specificity | Mouse anti Human Clathrin antibody, clone BF-06 recognizes clathrin heavy chain (CHC). Clathrin heavy chain 1 is a 1674 amino acid membrane protein with a predicted molecular mass of ~192 kDa. Clathrin is a ubiquitously expressed protein and major component of clathrin-coated vesicles and pits, which combines with clathrin light chains (CLC) to form clathrin triskelions (3CHC and 3CLC), which then self-assemble into a polyhedral coat. Clathrin-coated vesicles and pits are involved in receptor-mediated endocytosis and secretory vesicle formation, and are linked with the plasma membrane or trans-Golgi network by adaptor proteins. |
