|Application ||WB, IHC-P, FC, E|
|Calculated MW||34006 Da|
|Antigen Region||33-62 aa|
|Other Names||Phosphoglycolate phosphatase, PGP, PGPase, PGP|
|Target/Specificity||This PGP antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 33-62 amino acids from the N-terminal region of human PGP.|
|Format||Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is purified through a protein A column, followed by peptide affinity purification.|
|Storage||Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 2 weeks. For long term storage store at -20°C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles.|
|Precautions||PGP Antibody (N-term) is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.|
|Function||Glycerol-3-phosphate phosphatase hydrolyzing glycerol-3- phosphate into glycerol. Thereby, regulates the cellular levels of glycerol-3-phosphate a metabolic intermediate of glucose, lipid and energy metabolism. Was also shown to have a 2-phosphoglycolate phosphatase activity and a tyrosine-protein phosphatase activity. However, their physiological relevance is unclear (PubMed:26755581). In vitro, has also a phosphatase activity toward ADP, ATP, GDP and GTP (By similarity).|
|Tissue Location||Detected in all tissues including red cells, lymphocytes and cultured fibroblasts (at protein level). The highest activities occur in skeletal muscle and cardiac muscle|
