Precautions | UGT1A4 antibody - N-terminal region is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. |
Name | UGT1A4 |
---|---|
Synonyms | GNT1, UGT1 |
Function | UDPGT is of major importance in the conjugation and subsequent elimination of potentially toxic xenobiotics and endogenous compounds. This isoform glucuronidates bilirubin IX- alpha to form both the IX-alpha-C8 and IX-alpha-C12 monoconjugates and diconjugate. Isoform 2 lacks transferase activity but acts as a negative regulator of isoform 1 (By similarity). |
Cellular Location | Microsome. Endoplasmic reticulum membrane; Single-pass membrane protein |
Tissue Location | Isoform 1 and isoform 2 are expressed in liver, kidney, colon and small intestine. Isoform 2 but not isoform 1 is expressed in esophagus. Not expressed in skin |
