|Application ||WB, IHC, FC, ICC, E|
|Description||MGMT (O-6-methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase) is a protein-coding gene. Diseases associated with MGMT include oligoastrocytoma, and spinal cord astrocytoma. GO annotations related to this gene include DNA-methyltransferase activity and calcium ion binding.|
|Immunogen||Purified recombinant fragment of human MGMT (AA: 32-210) expressed in E. Coli.|
|Formulation||Purified antibody in PBS with 0.05% sodium azide|
|Other Names||Methylated-DNA--protein-cysteine methyltransferase, 126.96.36.199, 6-O-methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase, MGMT, O-6-methylguanine-DNA-alkyltransferase, MGMT|
WB~~1/500 - 1/2000
IF~~1/200 - 1/1000
FC~~1/200 - 1/400
IHC~~1/200 - 1/1000
|Storage||Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20°C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles.|
|Precautions||MGMT Antibody is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.|
|Function||Involved in the cellular defense against the biological effects of O6-methylguanine (O6-MeG) in DNA. Repairs alkylated guanine in DNA by stoichiometrically transferring the alkyl group at the O-6 position to a cysteine residue in the enzyme. This is a suicide reaction: the enzyme is irreversibly inactivated.|
