|Application ||WB, E|
|Other Accession||Q7M6Z3, Q8R5A0|
|Calculated MW||49688 Da|
|Antigen Region||120-152 aa|
|Other Names||N-lysine methyltransferase SMYD2, 211-, HSKM-B, Histone methyltransferase SMYD2, Lysine N-methyltransferase 3C, SET and MYND domain-containing protein 2, SMYD2, KMT3C|
|Target/Specificity||This SMYD2 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 120-152 amino acids from the N-terminal region of human SMYD2.|
|Format||Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is prepared by Saturated Ammonium Sulfate (SAS) precipitation followed by dialysis against PBS.|
|Storage||Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 2 weeks. For long term storage store at -20°C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles.|
|Precautions||SMYD2 Antibody (N-term) is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.|
|Function||Protein-lysine N-methyltransferase that methylates both histones and non-histone proteins, including p53/TP53 and RB1. Specifically methylates histone H3 'Lys-4' (H3K4me) and dimethylates histone H3 'Lys-36' (H3K36me2). Shows even higher methyltransferase activity on p53/TP53. Monomethylates 'Lys-370' of p53/TP53, leading to decreased DNA-binding activity and subsequent transcriptional regulation activity of p53/TP53. Monomethylates RB1 at 'Lys-860'.|
|Cellular Location||Cytoplasm, cytosol. Nucleus|
