|Application ||WB, IHC-P, E|
|Calculated MW||74510 Da|
|Antigen Region||439-468 aa|
|Other Names||G-protein-signaling modulator 1, Activator of G-protein signaling 3, GPSM1, AGS3|
|Target/Specificity||This GPSM1 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 439-468 amino acids from the Central region of human GPSM1.|
|Format||Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is purified through a protein A column, followed by peptide affinity purification.|
|Storage||Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 2 weeks. For long term storage store at -20°C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles.|
|Precautions||GPSM1 Antibody (Center) is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.|
|Function||Guanine nucleotide dissociation inhibitor (GDI) which functions as a receptor-independent activator of heterotrimeric G- protein signaling. Keeps G(i/o) alpha subunit in its GDP-bound form thus uncoupling heterotrimeric G-proteins signaling from G protein-coupled receptors. Controls spindle orientation and asymmetric cell fate of cerebral cortical progenitors. May also be involved in macroautophagy in intestinal cells. May play a role in drug addiction.|
|Cellular Location||Cytoplasm, cytosol. Endoplasmic reticulum membrane; Peripheral membrane protein; Cytoplasmic side. Golgi apparatus membrane; Peripheral membrane protein; Cytoplasmic side Cell membrane; Peripheral membrane protein; Cytoplasmic side|
|Tissue Location||Expressed in intestinal cells.|

Provided below are standard protocols that you may find useful for product applications.
G proteins propagate intracellular signals initiated by G protein-coupled receptors. GPSM1, a receptor-independent activator of G protein signaling, is one of several factors that influence the basal activity of G protein signaling systems (Pizzinat et al., 2001 [PubMed 11278352]).
