CSTA Antibody (C-term)

Peptide Affinity Purified Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody (Pab)

  • WB - CSTA Antibody (C-term) AP14350b
CSTA Antibody (C-term) (Cat. #AP14350b) western blot analysis in A549 cell line lysates (35ug/lane).This demonstrates the CSTA antibody detected the CSTA protein (arrow).
  • WB - CSTA Antibody (C-term) AP14350b
Western blot analysis of CSTA (arrow) using rabbit polyclonal CSTA Antibody (C-term) (Cat. #AP14350b). 293 cell lysates (2 ug/lane) either nontransfected (Lane 1) or transiently transfected (Lane 2) with the CSTA gene.
  • IHC-P - CSTA Antibody (C-term) AP14350b
CSTA Antibody (C-term) (AP14350b)immunohistochemistry analysis in formalin fixed and paraffin embedded human skin tissue followed by peroxidase conjugation of the secondary antibody and DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of CSTA Antibody (C-term) for immunohistochemistry. Clinical relevance has not been evaluated.

The cystatin superfamily encompasses proteins that contain multiple cystatin-like sequences. Some of the members are active cysteine protease inhibitors, while others have lost or perhaps never acquired this inhibitory activity. There are three inhibitory families in the superfamily, including the type 1 cystatins (stefins), type 2 cystatins, and kininogens. This gene encodes a stefin that functions as a cysteine protease inhibitor, forming tight complexes with papain and the cathepsins B, H, and L. The protein is one of the precursor proteins of cornified cell envelope in keratinocytes and plays a role in epidermal development and maintenance. Stefins have been proposed as prognostic and diagnostic tools for cancer.
