LAMP2 Antibody (C-term) - Additional info
| Gene ID 3920 | |
| Other Names LAMP2; Lysosome-associated membrane glycoprotein 2; CD107 antigen-like family member B; CD_antigen=CD107b; Flags: Precursor | |
| Target/Specificity This LAMP2 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 381~410 amino acids from the C-terminal region of human LAMP2. | |
| Dilution WB~~1:50~100WB~~1:1000 | |
| Format Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is first purified by protein A affinity chromatography. Then, the antibody fraction is peptide affinity purified in a 2-step procedure with peptides. The antibody is eluted with high and low pH buffers and neutralized immediately, followed by dialysis against PBS. | |
| Storage Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20°C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles. | |
| Precautions LAMP2 Antibody (C-term) is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. | |
LAMP2 Antibody (C-term) - Protein Information
| Name LAMP2 | |
| Function Implicated in tumor cell metastasis. May function in protection of the lysosomal membrane from autodigestion, maintenance of the acidic environment of the lysosome, adhesion when expressed on the cell surface (plasma membrane), and inter- and intracellular signal transduction. Protects cells from the toxic effects of methylating mutagens | |
| Cellular Location Cell membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein. Endosome membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein Lysosome membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein. Note=This protein shuttles between lysosomes, endosomes, and the plasma membrane | |
| Tissue Location Isoform LAMP-2A is highly expressed in placenta, lung and liver, less in kidney and pancreas, low in brain and skeletal muscle. Isoform LAMP-2B is highly expressed in skeletal muscle, less in brain, placenta, lung, kidney and pancreas, very low in liver | |

BACKGROUND
LAMP2 is a member of a family of membrane glycoproteins. This glycoprotein provides selectins with carbohydrate ligands. It may play a role in tumor cell metastasis. It may also function in the protection, maintenance, and adhesion of the lysosome.
