|Application ||WB, E|
|Calculated MW||16605 Da|
|Antigen Region||71-99 aa|
|Other Names||Immunoglobulin iota chain, CD179 antigen-like family member A, Protein VPreB1, V(pre)B protein, VpreB protein, CD179a, VPREB1, VPREB|
|Target/Specificity||This VPREB1 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 71-99 amino acids from the Central region of human VPREB1.|
|Format||Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is purified through a protein A column, followed by peptide affinity purification.|
|Storage||Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 2 weeks. For long term storage store at -20°C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles.|
|Precautions||VPREB1 Antibody (Center) is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.|
|Function||Associates with the Ig-mu chain to form a molecular complex that is expressed on the surface of pre-B-cells. This complex presumably regulates Ig gene rearrangements in the early steps of B-cell differentiation.|
|Tissue Location||Only expressed by pre-B-cells.|

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily and is expressed selectively at the early stages of B cell development, namely, in proB and early preB cells. This gene encodes the iota polypeptide chain that is associated with the Ig-mu chain to form a molecular complex which is expressed on the surface of pre-B cells. The complex is thought to regulate Ig gene rearrangements in the early steps of B-cell differentiation.
