|Other Names||Dipeptidyl peptidase 8, DP8, Dipeptidyl peptidase IV-related protein 1, DPRP-1, Dipeptidyl peptidase VIII, DPP VIII, Prolyl dipeptidase DPP8, DPP8, DPRP1|
|Target/Specificity||This DPP8 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 846-876 amino acids from the C-terminal region of human DPP8.|
|Format||Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is prepared by Saturated Ammonium Sulfate (SAS) precipitation followed by dialysis against PBS.|
|Storage||Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 2 weeks. For long term storage store at -20°C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles.|
|Precautions||DPP8 Antibody (C-term) is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.|
|Function||Dipeptidyl peptidase that cleaves off N-terminal dipeptides from proteins having a Pro or Ala residue at position 2. May play a role in T-cell activation and immune function.|
|Tissue Location||Ubiquitously expressed, with highest levels in testis, placenta, prostate, muscle and brain|

Provided below are standard protocols that you may find useful for product applications.
DPP8 is a member of the peptidase S9B family, a small family of dipeptidyl peptidases that are able to cleave peptide substrates at a prolyl bond. The protein shares similarity with dipeptidyl peptidase IV in that it is ubiquitously expressed, and hydrolyzes the same substrates. These similarities suggest that, like dipeptidyl peptidase IV, this protein may play a role in T-cell activation and immune function.
