|Application ||WB, IHC-P, FC, E|
|Other Accession||Q2HJ57, NP_066972|
|Calculated MW||15945 Da|
|Antigen Region||115-142 aa|
|Other Names||Coactosin-like protein, COTL1, CLP|
|Target/Specificity||This COTL1 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 115-142 amino acids from the C-terminal region of human COTL1.|
|Format||Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is purified through a protein A column, followed by peptide affinity purification.|
|Storage||Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 2 weeks. For long term storage store at -20°C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles.|
|Precautions||COTL1 Antibody (C-term) is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.|
|Function||Binds to F-actin in a calcium-independent manner. Has no direct effect on actin depolymerization. Acts as a chaperone for ALOX5 (5LO), influencing both its stability and activity in leukotrienes synthesis.|
|Cellular Location||Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton. Nucleus membrane; Peripheral membrane protein|
|Tissue Location||Widely expressed with highest levels in placenta, lung, kidney and peripheral blood leukocytes and lower levels in brain, liver and pancreas|

Provided below are standard protocols that you may find useful for product applications.
COTL1 is one of the numerous actin-binding proteins which regulate the actin cytoskeleton. This protein binds F-actin, and also interacts with 5-lipoxygenase, which is the first committed enzyme in leukotriene biosynthesis.
