Background
This gene encodes a class 1 aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase, mitochondrial leucyl-tRNA synthetase. Each of the twentyaminoacyl-tRNA synthetases catalyzes the aminoacylation of aspecific tRNA or tRNA isoaccepting family with the cognate aminoacid.
