Background
This gene encodes a protein which induces ectopic boneformation in conjunction with transforming growth factor beta. Thisprotein is a small proteoglycan which contains tandem leucine-richrepeats (LRR). Alternatively spliced transcript variants thatencode the same protein have been found for this gene.
