Background
This gene encodes a protein with sequence similarity to amouse protein originally identified in embryonic stem cells. Inmouse T-cell lines, this protein appears to be related toglucocorticoid- and staurine-induced apoptotic pathways, and to belinked to ceramide-mediated signalling. These observations suggestthat this gene product is involved in specific apoptotic processesin T-cells.
