Synthetic peptide

Product Information
Primary Accession Q9BVP2
Clone Names 70716048
Peptide ID 70716048
Additional Information
Gene ID 26354
Other Names Guanine nucleotide-binding protein-like 3, E2-induced gene 3 protein, Novel nucleolar protein 47, NNP47, Nucleolar GTP-binding protein 3, Nucleostemin, GNL3, E2IG3, NS
Target/Specificity The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP1405b was selected from the C-term region of human GNL3. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Format Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
StorageMaintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20°C.
PrecautionsThis product is for research use only. Not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
Protein Information
Name GNL3
Synonyms E2IG3, NS
Function May be required to maintain the proliferative capacity of stem cells. Stabilizes MDM2 by preventing its ubiquitination, and hence proteasomal degradation (By similarity).
Cellular Location Nucleus. Nucleus, nucleolus. Note=Shuttles between the nucleus and nucleolus
Tissue Location Increased levels in lung tissue in cancer patients.

GNL3 is found in the nucleoli of embryonic stem cells, adult CNS stem cells, primitive cells in the bone marrow and cancer cells. It is not in the differentiated cells of most adult tissues. It has been suggested to play a role in controlling the cell-cycle progression in stem cells and cancer cells, and may be required to maintain the proliferative capacity of stem cells.
