|Storage||Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20°C.|
|Precautions||This product is for research use only. Not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.|
|Function||Component of a Polycomb group (PcG) multiprotein PRC1- like complex, a complex class required to maintain the transcriptionally repressive state of many genes, including Hox genes, throughout development. PcG PRC1 complex acts via chromatin remodeling and modification of histones; it mediates monoubiquitination of histone H2A 'Lys-119', rendering chromatin heritably changed in its expressibility.|

Provided below are standard protocols that you may find useful for product applications.
In Drosophila melanogaster, the 'Polycomb' group (PcG) ofgenes are part of a cellular memory system that is responsible forthe stable inheritance of gene activity. PcG proteins form a largemultimeric, chromatin-associated protein complex. The proteinencoded by this gene has homology to the Drosophila PcG protein'polyhomeotic' (Ph) and is known to heterodimerize with EDR1 andcolocalize with BMI1 in interphase nuclei of human cells. Thespecific function in human cells has not yet been determined. Twotranscript variants encoding different isoforms have been found forthis gene.
