Background

This gene was identified based on its similarity with themouse counterpart. Studies of the mouse counterpart suggest thatthe expression of this gene may be regulated during oocytematuration and preimplantation following zygotic gene activation.Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinctisoforms have been observed.
