Product Information
Primary Accession Q96AY2
Clone Names 70920113
Peptide ID 70920113
Additional Information
Gene ID 146956
Other Names Crossover junction endonuclease EME1, 3122-, MMS4 homolog, hMMS4, EME1, MMS4
Target/Specificity The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP6288c was selected from the Center region of human EME1. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Format Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
StorageMaintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20°C.
PrecautionsThis product is for research use only. Not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
Protein Information
Name EME1
Synonyms MMS4
Function Interacts with MUS81 to form a DNA structure-specific endonuclease with substrate preference for branched DNA structures with a 5'-end at the branch nick. Typical substrates include 3'- flap structures, replication forks and nicked Holliday junctions. May be required in mitosis for the processing of stalled or collapsed replication forks.
Cellular Location Nucleus, nucleolus. Note=Recruited to regions of DNA damage in S-phase cells

Background

EME1 and MUS81 (MIM 606591) form an endonuclease complex that cleaves branched DNA structures, especially those arising during stalled DNA replication (Abraham et al., 2003 [PubMed 14609959]).[supplied by OMIM]
