Protein Information
Name DUSP18
Synonyms LMWDSP20
Function Can dephosphorylate single and diphosphorylated synthetic MAPK peptides, with preference for the phosphotyrosine and diphosphorylated forms over phosphothreonine. In vitro, dephosphorylates p-nitrophenyl phosphate (pNPP).
Cellular Location Cytoplasm. Nucleus. Mitochondrion inner membrane {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:Q8VE01}; Peripheral membrane protein {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:Q8VE01}; Intermembrane side {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:Q8VE01}. Note=Translocates to cytoplasm in response to apoptotic stimuli such as staurosporine treatment {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:Q8VE01}
Tissue Location Widely expressed with highest levels in liver, brain, ovary and testis.
