Application & Usage | The peptide is used for blocking the antibody activity of Catalase. It usually blocks the antibody activity completely in Western blot analysis by incubating the peptide with equal volume of antibody for 30-60 minutes at 37°C. |
Other Names | Catalase, 1.11.1.6, CAT |
Target/Specificity | Catalase |
Formulation | 50 µg (0.5 mg/ml) in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.2, containing 50% glycerol, 1% BSA and 0.02% thimerosal. |
Reconstitution & Storage | -20 °C |

Function | Catalyzes the degradation of hydrogen peroxide (H(2)O(2)) generated by peroxisomal oxidases to water and oxygen, thereby protecting cells from the toxic effects of hydrogen peroxide (PubMed:7882369). Promotes growth of cells including T-cells, B-cells, myeloid leukemia cells, melanoma cells, mastocytoma cells and normal and transformed fibroblast cells (PubMed:7882369). |
Cellular Location | Peroxisome |
